As a part of our AMC class we had the wonderful opportunity to meet Eleanor Shearer, a British author from London. Her book « River Sings me home » depicts the gripping journey of a mother searching for her deplaced children after the end of slavery in the 1830s.
Eleanor Shearer presented her book, read us an extract and explained the history and meaning behind it. We also got to ask her questions about her writing process, her inspiration and personal connection to the topic and her future work such as her next novel or an upcoming film adaptation.
All in all her visit was both very informative, enjoyable and definitely the highlight of this class.
